Michael established the business Red Textas in 1994 after previously working a decade in local government (Caulfield, Brighton, Maroondah and Warrnambool Councils).
His role today is the company general manager.

Michael established the business Red Textas in 1994 after previously working a decade in local government (Caulfield, Brighton, Maroondah and Warrnambool Councils).
His role today is the company general manager. He also carries out the roles of building inspector and senior building surveyor which includes organising staff, checking new applications, and quoting of jobs.
From 2021, Michael no longer acts as the company RBS for new building projects; preferring to use his knowledge in a full- time role to promote the business and mentor 8 other technical staff.
Like the other key staffers, Michael remains a member of the Australian Institute of Building Surveying. He remains passionate and committed to the business.

Sean completed a degree in civil engineering, commerce, and a graduate diploma in building surveying.
He joined Red Textas in 2006 initially as an engineering student (that developed a real interest in our profession).
Today he is a fully qualified unlimited building surveyor who is integral to the company. He performs the role of one of our relevant building surveyors responsible for issuing building permits, particularly those jobs involving Volume One of the NCC.
Sean’s understanding of the building surveying role and other related professions (i.e. town planning, energy efficiency, fire and structural engineering) has been very valuable to our company.
He has developed a fine reputation of being refreshingly patient, courteous, and very knowledgeable building surveyor.

Shane has been with the company since 2019, he performs the role of relevant building surveyor.
He is a fully registered Building Surveyor that brings a wealth of knowledge/experience to our business (with mechanical engineering and IT background).
Shane received the Dean’s award for the advanced Diploma of Building Surveying that he completed in 2018.
He is a keen contributor and works closely with all those in the company involved in the processing of building permits.
Shane’s enthusiasm for the building surveying role (as well as experience in project management and information technology) makes him ideal person to take on the RBS role.

Martin has been a part of the Red Textas team since 2002. He came from a trade background in bricklaying and demolition.
Upon joining Red Textas, Martin trained up as building inspector and successfully completed the Diploma of Building Surveying and Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying.

Martin has been a part of the Red Textas team since 2002. He came from a trade background in bricklaying and demolition.
Upon joining Red Textas, Martin trained up as building inspector and successfully completed the Diploma of Building Surveying and Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying. This enabled him to register with the building practitioner’s board as a Building Inspector (unlimited). He is also member of the Australian Institute of Building Surveying.
Today, Martin is our senior Building Inspector at Red Textas responsible for supervising other staff and carrying out on site building inspections (residential and commercial). His reporting role means that he works closely with the builders and the relevant building surveyor. Martin is the person most likely to be turned towards to investigate any ‘unusual’ site issues and assist with any job ‘rectification’.
Martin has gained a reputation of meeting deadlines and being courteous and respectful to everyone. With years of extensive experience in the building surveying profession, Martin’s contribution to our business has been invaluable and his common-sense approach is a reflection of our business ideal.

Mick commenced his career as a fulltime carpenter / foreman for high end residential projects in the south eastern suburbs. In 2010 Mick returned to university to obtain a Diploma of Surveying at which time he commenced work at Red Textas as a building surveyor’s assistant.

Michael (known as ‘Mick’) has had over 20 years’ experience in the building industry.
Mick commenced his career as a fulltime carpenter / foreman for high end residential projects in the south eastern suburbs. In 2010 Mick returned to university to obtain a Diploma of Surveying at which time he commenced work at Red Textas as a building surveyor’s assistant. Mick soon acquired his Building Inspection qualification and was promoted to the position of building inspector.
Mick’s role in the business as an ‘in house’ inspector is primarily to attend on-site inspections at the mandatory building inspection stages and provide the appropriate service to our builders. He reports to the relevant building surveyor and has a close working relationship with our senior building inspector Martin Beech.
His vast building experience has made Mick an ideal fit for the role as building inspector. His boundless energy, good on-site problem solving skills, practical thinking ability and up-beat persona make him a real asset to the company.
Julian Costanzo

Julian is our newest qualified Building Inspector that has been with Red Textas since 2024. He completed the advanced Building Surveying degree in 2025 and has gained a valuable experience since, in his role as assistant Building Surveyor. Julian has shown himself to be considerate and accommodating to our staff and clients. He is a determined and motivated building surveyor and a wonderful addition to our team.

Toula joined Red Textas in December 2015, bringing extensive experience as an administrator in the construction industry.
Toula’s sound knowledge of administrative practices, procedures and processes are invaluable to the organisation. Her role is to co-ordinate, oversee the office functions and contribute hands-on in all operational aspects including online permit processing and financial management.
In addition, Toula plays a key role in HR administration, supporting employee onboarding and offboarding, maintaining personnel records, assisting with payroll coordination, and ensuring compliance with relevant workplace policies and procedures.
Her dedication and caring nature align perfectly with our values at Red Textas and she is an asset to the Business.

Kristi plays a vital role in mentoring and developing other building surveyor staff to gain knowledge, skills and experience on assessing reports and building permit applications.
With an inquisitive nature she has developed a strong interest and capability in siting assessments and holds an integral support role to our surveyors. Kristi’s common sense approach and insight allows her to provide guidance and knowledge to owners and builders on the overall building permit process.

Haley has proven to be a great asset to the business with her ‘no fuss’ approach, her ability to meet deadlines and general efficiency. Her knowledge about building surveying and the office systems means she is another of our ‘all rounders’.

Fergus is an effective communicator who works well with both colleagues and clients. He completed a Bachelor of Building Surveying in 2025 and is a valuable member of the team, contributing through client liaison and the delivery of thorough and accurate plan assessments.
